So that’s where I’m at when it comes to bras, when it comes to undies I’m a pretty committed Hanky Panky fan and I’ll get into why that is next! I’m usually wearing a relaxed fitting top as well. MY LIFESTYLE: I work from home and in casual environments a lot, so I don’t often feel the need to worry about nipple discretion or things like that. I’ll rarely go braless save for select circumstances if I’m wearing a fitted top and it’s appropriate for the occasion. I’m all for the natural shape of the breast but don’t feel comfortable when the ladies are dancing about under my top yet I don’t find underwires comfortable either, no matter how well-fitting the bra might be.

I occasionally opt for full coverage (mainly when wearing a fitted, light colour top) but usually I go for a simple bralette style. MY PREFERENCE: Natural support and comfort are paramount for me.

While my size is fairly small I still find I need a bit of support and something to keep the girls in their proper place. I usually wear a S or M bra depending on the brand. MY SIZE: I’m a 32C pretty much across the board and have been a 30D in some specialty lines in the past. I’m ALL for whatever type of bra gives you confidence, whether that minimal lining, push-up padding or au naturelle! The directory below includes a diverse selection of brands from full coverage and pure support to little and lacy so there is should be something for every preference. I’ll begin by acknowledging that underwear is a particularly subjective and personal section in the wardrobe, so of course, what I love, might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Ready to talk undies? Me too, so let’s get to it! In doing this research I’ve come across so many new designers and brands that I’m excited to try over time and hope you’ll find some that can work for you too! Today I’ll begin by running through my own collection of under-things and follow that with a directory of all the brands I’ve compiled. I also still wear some bras that I bought before I was committed to shopping responsibly, so we’ll take a look at those too. The truth is that it’s taken me a long time to land on some brands that I really love and honestly, even the bras I wear often have room for improvement. There are 30 in total! I get so many questions about this closet category because underwear is a daily necessity (at least for most of us!) and it can be tough to source options that are functional, well-designed, fun to wear, ethically made and sustainably sourced.

This post has been a long time in the making but I’m excited to finally be able to share a round-up of all the responsibly made underwear brands I’ve personally shopped and the ones I have on my radar for the future.
